ECML PKDD in SecondLife

This year, for the first time, ECML PKDD will be present in a virtual world. On Monday at 5.20pm CEST (11.20am in New York/8.20am in San Francisco), the Opening and Awards ceremony as well the invited talk by Rosie Jones (Yahoo!, Inc) will be broadcast in real time to a virtual conference centre provided by Nature Publishing Group in SecondLife.

Registration desk opening hours

The ECML PKDD registration desk will be located in the Golf Hotel (in front of the main conference room Jupiter). It will already be open on Sunday from 17:00 to 20:00.You are cordially invited to register before the official opening and have a drink with your colleagues and conference organisers in the hotel’s lobby. Online Access to Proceedings and Journal Issues

It is our pleasure to announce that all ECML PKDD 2009 participants will be able to browse the conference proceedings on-line for three weeks (presumably starting today). Additionally, Springer provides free access to the content of the two special ECML PKDD journal issues published in Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery and in Machine Learning. As soon as we receive access information we will distribute it to all those conference participants who have covered their registration fees. Transfer Service from Ljubljana Airport

Shuttle service will be provided for participants who have selected that with the registration and provided their flight details.Those of you who haven’t registered for the shuttle but would like to do that now please modify your on-line registration (using your user name and password): http://www.clickonevent.com/Default.aspx?alias=www.clickonevent.com/albatrosbled/ecml or simply send an e-mail including your name, hotel and flight info to info@albatros-bled.com. At the airport there will be a conference sign in the arrival lobby (this will be the meeting point) and also all shuttle drivers will hold conference signs. It is a small airport so it will be easy to find the meeting point:) The shuttle service is payable directly to the driver.

Accommodation and transfer

We would like to remind you that Monday August 10th is the last day for booking your hotel accommodation based on the special prices we have negotiated with different category hotels in Bled. After this date the rooms will be “on-request” so we can no longer guarantee the availability or the price. If you have registered and not yet booked the accommodation or transfer please do that as soon as possible by logging in to the on-line system again (with you username and password). Read more…

We would like to inform you that the deadline for submitting Camera Ready Papers has been extended to June 22, 2009.

Registration Site Open

The conference registration site is now open! For only 340 EUR (regular fee) or 290 EUR (student fee) registered participants may freely attend all ECML and PKDD sessions, as well as workshops and tutorials. All coffee breaks, receptions, and the banquet are included. This year students have a possibility to choose a lower rate (220 EUR) which does not include the conference banquet. Read more…
